How to make a simple wire wrap chain
Length of finished chain.

Single link (side view).
Step #1
Pull wire wire between fingers until most of the kinks are out and the wire is more or less straight
Step #2
cut wire into equal lengths (approximately 1-1/4" to 1-1/2") set aside within easy reach.
Step #3
Place the wooden dowel perpendicular to the wire in the middle of the wire and wrap both sides of the wire up until the wire forms a u shape around the dowel.
Step #4
Using your round nose pliers bend one end of the wire around the nose of the pliers to create an eyelet. the tip of the wire should resemble the letter P. Insert the tip of the round nose pliers in the eyelet and bend the wire so that the eyelet is centered with the wire. close the eyelet with the pliers if necessary. Repeat Step #4 with the other side of the wire. you should end up with a U shaped wire an eyelet at each end. (make sure all eyelets are formed with the wire ends facing the same direction)
Step #5
Insert the nose of the round nose pliers through both eyelets and using the chaining pliers pinch both sides ogf the wire together to create a tear drop shaped link.
Step# 6
Repeat Step #3 with the next piece of wire. Then thread the wire through both eyelets of the previous link. Repeat Step #4 and Step #5. continue this process until you have the desired length of chain.
Optional Step#7
You may Choose to wire wrap the shank of each link with about a 26 gauge wire. this will require some extra time but will add a nice finishing touch, Just be sure to wrap each shank an equal number of times. (i.e. if the shank of link #1 has 5 wraps the rest of the links should have 5 wraps as well).
